We have outgrown our precision plastic machining facility here in Wallingford Connecticut, which we contribute to our ever growing customer base.  So after much deliberation, we decided to add on to our existing facility. PEP Connecticut Plastics has upgraded a portion of our manufacturing facility to conform to an FED STD 209E Class 1000 Level clean room.  The clean room is used in conjunction with our highly specialized vapor polishing process to provide our most discerning customers the water clear finish they require. Medical Device Industry Braces for New Tax

Medical device industry leaders are bracing against the inevitable impact of a new 2.5% tax on the life saving products they produce. A U.S. House bill, which passed on November 7t, proposes a major health system overhaul and includes this 2.5% tax on medical devices, to be implemented in 2013. Industry sources say this tax would cost device manufacturers about $20 billion over 10 years. Leaders in the medical device industry maintain that this tax will harm innovation and drive more medical-technology development outside the United States. We Now Offer Bonded Fluidic Plastic Manifolds

We have received many queries from our customers asking us to produce custom plastic manifolds for their applications.  We are glad to announce that we now have those capabilities.  PEP Connecticut Plastics now offers multilayer bonded fluidic manifolds.  These manifolds can be produced in Acrylic, Polycarbonate, Polysulfone and Ultem.  These manifolds can be of an unlimited number of layers and have no overall size restrictions.  By bonding parts, there are fewer leak points and the total fluid package size is reduced.  With a total part count reduction, the final cost of assembly is less.  With increased reliability, custom manifolds are […]

Jump in Manufacturing Sector for August

On Tuesday,  September 1, 2009,  the Institute of Supply Management, a trade group of purchasing executives, announced that the manufacturing sector of our economy grew in August. The index rose from 48.9 in July to 52.9 in August.  A better-than-expected increase since economists predicted it would only rise to 50.5.  In the same report, ISM states that new customer orders jumped 10% in August reaching their highest level since December 2004.  Norbert Ore, chair of ISM said production should grow at “reasonable rates” for the rest of this year.
